Steven Gerrard accused Steve Clarke of being out of clbad after Kilmarnock's boss called Jermain Defoe to dive.
Clarke asked for consistency at his press conference Monday morning after Jordan Jones was banned from playing two games earlier this season.
Defoe won two shots on goal against St Mirren on Saturday, with many observers insisting that the Rangers forward plunged for second prize.
Now Gerrard has gone back to his former Liverpool coach – telling the Rugby Park manager that it had nothing to do with him.
Speaking before the showdown in Aberdeen Wednesday, the Rangers boss said: "I was very surprised by Steve Clarke's comments because they have nothing to do with Kilmarnock.
"This is not what I expect from Steve who normally has such a clbad. It is disappointing.
"The two situations are completely different." Jordan Jones was one meter away from the opponent, diving and plunging his head into shame because he is embarrbaded.
"There is little contact on Jermain, none of my players have used the penalty, none of my players have given the penalty, so why should Jermain Defoe be banned?" The referee made the decision, nothing to do with the Rangers, nothing to do with the Rangers, Jermain tried to bounce back without resorting to a penalty. "
"There was a flagrant red card on Jack that I did not mention after the Kilmarnock match.
"The referee settled the situation on Saturday and we are going from the front."
Clarke said, "One of our players was suspended for two games for being too easy on the ground earlier in the season.
"The media has been a big hit. A witch hunt against the player.
"Nothing like Saturday's game, Rangers against St Mirren. Nothing.
"Let's hope the compliance officer does her job.
"It does not affect us, I do not advocate particularly, but I just want consistency.
"So if our player is banned two games, I can not wait to see what happens this week."
