John Stones is ready to fight for his place in Manchester City after falling out of favor last term.
The stones started 20 Premier League matches, with Pep Guardiola's team retaining the title.
But in the final weeks of a triumphant campaign, Stones had to look aside as Guardiola instead entrusted his captain Vincent Kompany, who had defeated Leicester, a vital victor.
In England, Stones appeared rusty in an international match against Dutch side Gareth Southgate's semifinal team before beating Switzerland to take third place.
Kompany 's decision to join Anderlecht as a player player could open the door for Stones' return to the back line of City, especially as the Belgian international has not been replaced.
"I took some time during my vacation and I thought about it," Stones told reporters. "I came back this season fighting for my chance to play again and fix that."
"I'm sure I will do it because I have the firm intention of correcting things and being honest when you have done something wrong.
"The last two months have been frustrating, but any player who does not play is frustrated, you have to respect the manager.
"I wanted to try to affect any game I could when I played, regardless of the minutes I had.
"It's about the team and not John Stones or anyone else, which is why we won four trophies last season."
City has added Rodri to a team full of talent and Stones is looking forward to the resumption of action.
"It's still non-stop, it's good to see new faces and the club obviously wants to go in the right direction by engaging young players," he said.
"We have a pretty young team now, we still have players coming back from Copa America and Riyadh [Mahrez] to win the Africa Cup of Nations. The full team has not returned yet while we are in pre-season.
"It's something we have to deal with, with new players coming in and trying to settle in, then more players coming back, trying to get to know them and know how they play." an exciting moment for us. "
