Cbadiel Ato Forson, former Deputy Minister of Finance
Former Deputy Minister of Finance, Cbadiel Ato Forson, urged President Akufo-Addo to prevent Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia from commenting on the economy, as his remarks are contrary to the performance of the local currency , the cedi.
According to him, the Cedi plunged immediately after Dr Bawumia delivered a public lecture on the performance of the economy at the meeting of the general badembly held on Wednesday by the country's economic management team.
Speaking at a counter-party opposition conference on the performance of the economy, the Ajumako-Enyan-Esiam MP lamented that the vice president had lied with his economic data.
"I urge the president to restrain his vice president because whenever he speaks, the currency changes."
He pointed to Dr. Bawumia handled with numbers and presented lies as facts during his presentation.
"You've heard about justice and judicial systems. What does this have to do with the economic management team? He had nothing to say. He was only playing with numbers. And again, you know him and his references to lies with numbers. You can see lies.
On Wednesday, Bawumia pointed out that the nuclear power plant is managing the economy better than the NDC.
"Our worst is better than your best and you say" boot for boot "This is more like a boot for chalewate.
He challenged the NDC to provide data proving that the economy is in free fall. He said the economy is sound and credible data are available to support this statement.
"These are based on credible data and allow anyone who does not agree to provide their data," said Bawumia in his presentation, "Our Progress, Our Status, Our Future."
According to him, available statistics indicate that the economy behaves better than previous governments.
