Edwin Ekow Blankson, chief fire officer of the National Fire Service of Ghana (GNFS), called on the general public to refrain from using their hotlines for pranks.

According to statistics, the National Fire Service of Ghana (GNFS) received more than 297,000 calls of jokes between December 24th of last year and January 2nd of this year.
Of the approximately 300,000 calls received during this period, only three were from people in real distress.
