Look on the Adentan-Madina bridge
Residents of Adentan-Madina are asking the government, through the police department, to deter recalcitrant pedestrians from using any of the pedestrian bridges built in the area.
"Fixourfootbridgesnow", the defended coalition leader, Julius Atsu at the Adom FM morning program show, Dwaso Nsem broadcast, said on Wednesday that they would not tolerate such unruly in the region.
Many pedestrians continue to cross the dangerous Adentan-Madina highway despite violent protests that took place eight months ago and led to the construction of footbridges on the stretch.
On November 8, 2018, residents took to the streets as a result of the murder of a high school student from West Africa, a victim of a hit and run.
This was one of the many reversals of this type, which the locals attributed to the lack of proper means of crossing, mainly pedestrian bridges.
However, even after the completion of some of the six gateways, some pedestrians continue to challenge the orders of the security guards and cross the road.
Their only difficulty is to spend only four minutes of their time climbing the bridge on the other side of the road for their own safety.
Atsu said that if police personnel were deployed in the area to ensure strict membership, all residents would abide by this rule.
