Yaw Afful, Member of Parliament for Jaman South
A group called the youth group of Jaman South Concern NPP, in the Bono area, urged Jaman South MP Yaw Afful to separate his personal projects from projects under the $ 1 million per riding.
The group accused the MP of having had credit for projects under the $ 1 million per constituency initiative whenever he has the opportunity to speak up. on the radio and at public gatherings.
The group said that the situation had given the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of his constituency, the opportunity to blame the NPP government for neglecting Jaman South, no project in the municipality n & # 39; 39, having been badigned to the NPP Government.
Speaking at a press conference in Drobo, the group's chairman, Emmanuel Yeboah, said it would be difficult for party members and communicators to tell voters that development in the region had been constructed by the Nana Addo-led government prior to the 2020 Elections.
He therefore urged the party's national leaders to tell Yaw Afful not to participate in direct government projects to convey the appropriate campaign messages to them in the 2020 elections.
"While we are in no way opposed to Yaw Afful's participation in the multiple successes of the ruling party government, we are concerned that the trend has always given the NDC of the opposition some leeway to vehemently criticize the government, especially in the constituency of Jaman South. not keeping his promises. It is imperative to note that other presidential special initiatives, such as the distribution of LED streetlights and the payment of MASLOC facilities, have all suffered the same fate. "
Yeboah also said the situation also created a big problem for party communicators.
"Most of these projects that are consistently identified as having been supported by the $ 1 million flagship project are also the same projects that would have been initiated by the member. Most often, some of these desperate communicators deliberately refuse to point out that the projects fall under our purview from the above mentioned program (1C1MD). Unfortunately, it endangers the integrity of the party. Communicators are in danger because voters do not know who to trust anymore. "
Several appeals to the MP, who also serves as deputy minister of aviation to get his point of view, were unsuccessful.
