Stormzy will star in Scotland's largest music festival on Friday.

Approximately 50,000 music fans are expected each day at the TRNSMT festival, which runs from July 12 to 14 in Glasgow Green.

Catfish And The Bottlemen and George Ezra are on Saturday and Sunday respectively. Bastille, The Kooks, Sigrid and Richard Ashcroft are among the groups that will appear this weekend.

Snow Patrol and Jess Glynne were part of the initial training but were replaced by Scottish artists Lewis Capaldi and Emeli Sande after being removed a few weeks before the festival.

Festival director Geoff Ellis told the news agency: "Stormzy had a great Glastonbury and he only wanted to do two festivals this year.

"When we received a call – about a year ago – telling us that he wanted to do Glastonbury and TRNSMT, it's really cool to have it.

"He played the first year here and had a fantastic concert, it started around 4 pm and an entire crowd watched him, and it was awesome. I will certainly not miss him. "

Gerry Cinnamon, Years & Years and Example are also featured in Friday's program.

However, Ellis said the festival was not limited to music.

"Being on something like TRNSMT is not just about live bands, but about the general atmosphere and being with 50,000 like-minded people.

"We have good food, different bars all over the site, so hope you do not have to queue for a drink, you can come and relax and have fun.

"It's a noisy, busy oasis in Glasgow's city center."

The weather should be generally mild over the weekend with some showers on Friday and Saturday and a sunny day on Sunday.

Festivalgoers would be better off taking sunscreen, with temperatures reaching 22 ° C on Friday, 21 ° C on Saturday and 23 ° C on Sunday, forecasters said.

Alex Burkill, a forecaster at the Met Office, said, "There is a lot of hot and humid weather ahead with just a few showers Friday and Saturday, but otherwise dry and bright throughout."
