The year 2019 should already be huge for Stormzy, and we finally had the chance to listen to new music from the all-powerful MC.

The sequel to Gang Signs & Prayer, scheduled for 2017, is expected to be released later this year, with many expecting an album to come out at its big headline at the Glastonbury festival this year.

After promising fans this week that the new music would finally arrive today (April 26th), Stormzy released the Vossi Bop – named after a viral dance made famous by the person behind the Twitter account @NL_Vossi, suspended since a long time.

On the track, Stormzy fires Idris Elba as Bond and cripples in Dubai, while not praising either the government or Boris Johnson.

Vossi Bop's accompanying video is an astonishing and uncluttered affair: filmed in central London, Stormzy takes center stage on a deserted Westminster bridge, reminiscent of this 28 Days Later scene and giving him a twist of dirt.

Stormzy told Julie Adenuga, of Beats 1, the origin of the track. "He went to get Supermalt, he was on the way back and he was just dancing on that song.

"But it was so contagious and such a moment of joy that for some reason, I went to the studio a few weeks later, and I did this song called Vossi Bop."

Revealing that he had composed the song in 2016, Stormzy said that the atmosphere of the track had remained: Like yeah, that's my mood right now.

"I think it embodies everything that concerns me: trust, humor, style, flair, anarchy, chaos, just the mood.

"All of these things, I thought to myself," It's me who is incarnated. "
