Although "Stranger Things" is one of Netflix's greatest hits, we have remained immune to some of its charms.
In the last episode of the Original Content podcast, we review the third season of the series – a.k.a "Stranger Things 3" – giving us the opportunity to share our general impressions of the series.
Darrell, in particular, embraced the mix of the first season of horror and 80s nostalgia, only to feel that the second season was just a rehearsal. (There has been an episode that has diversified, but we have somehow forgotten the time devoted to telekinetic teens.) In many ways, "Stranger Things 3" continues this Hawkins' residents are once again forced to confront a malevolent being from another dimension.
To be fair, the bad guy known as Mind Flayer is not doing the same thing this time. He has a whole new diabolical plan. But "Strange Things 3" seems cooler when it's less about the sci-fi plot, and even more so when it comes to coping with a rapidly maturing cast, as many younger characters find themselves in become anxious adolescents.
And yes, we enjoyed all these scenes in the new shopping center of the city. This seems to be an obvious ploy for nostalgia, but nostalgia works.
