Professor Kwasi Opoku Amankwa, General Manager of the GES, who gave the guidelines in an interview with the Daily Graphic, was concerned that some SHS officials were charging different levels of fees in the SHS and public TVET, especially for final year students. .

He reminded officials that they had originally sent quarterly invoices to students before the announcement of the current semester system.

"It was therefore necessary to adjust the fees according to the current semester system," he explained.

He explained that all SHS formula 3 student fees had been absorbed by the government and therefore no student of the day would be required to pay tuition fees.

Subtotal for the first semester

Giving details, he said, the subtotal for the first half of the last year was supposed to rise to GH ¢ 741.50 and any excess paid should be credited to the account of the Student for the second semester.

He specified that, for the first semester, boarding costs were 5.20 GH ¢ per student per day for 105 days, for a total of 546.00 GH ¢, while the other costs amounted to GH ¢ 95.50 and that the adjusted amount of monthly fees to reflect the current system was GH ¢. 100

Second semester

For the second semester, Professor Amankwa stated that all third-year students would be required to pay 865.10 GH ¢ as tuition fees for the semester.

He stated that boarding fees were GH ¢ 5.20 per student per day for 120 days, for a total of GH ¢ 624 and boarding fees for an additional 28 days were $ 145. , 60 GH ¢, while other expenses amounted to 95.50 GH ¢.

TVET students

For the first semester of the third year students of TVET, Professor Amankwa stated that boarding costs amounted to 546 GH ¢ or 5.20 GH ¢ per student per day for 105 days.

For the second semester, Professor Amankwa stated that boarding fees would be 624 GH ¢, consisting of 5.20 GH ¢ per student per day for 120 days.

The Executive Director explained that each student would be required to pay 15 GH ¢ for technical training material and 95.50 GH ¢ for other fees, ie 880.10 GH for the second semester.
