Union members on both sites will leave both airports from 4:00 am to 4:00 pm.

The first of two 12-hour strikes is scheduled to begin at Glasgow and Aberdeen airports.

This decision follows talks held between the AGS Airports Group and the Unite union regarding wages and pensions.

Unit members at both sites will depart from 4:00 am to 4:00 pm. A new strike is scheduled next Monday.

Strikers include security personnel, fire and operations crews, but not registration agents or baggage handlers.

AGS stated that "robust emergency plans" would be put in place to ensure the "normal operation" of both airports.

About 400 people are likely to go on strike in Glasgow, but airport officials have recruited the same number of employees.

The usual quota of 300 aircraft should fly.

AGS Airports Limited owns the airports of Glasgow, Aberdeen and Southampton.

The union says the company ended the pension consultation process on May 24 as it tried to terminate a defined benefit pension plan.

This, they said, violated an Acas agreement reached in 2016 to keep the system open to existing members.
