Harry Kane, head of Tottenham Hotspur, believes that the defeat in the Champions League final against Liverpool early last month has left the Spurs still in the lead.
The Lilywhites traveled to Asia to prepare for the International Champions Cup, which will play its first game against Juventus in Singapore on July 21st.
Kane is excited about what a new season has to bring and thinks joining the Champions League final has left his mark.
Despite his loss to Liverpool's Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid, Kane insists that Tottenham is more than ever hungry for success and wants to prove a point after missing the silverware.
"It makes you stronger, more determined and gives you fire in the belly to come back and when we hope to come back, hopefully, prove a point," Kane has declared the official website of his club.
"We had the summer to think and before the start of each season, you are more excited about the upcoming season than in the past.
"This gave us the confidence and conviction that we can be in big matches and it's up to us this season to try and perform again. "
Kane also pointed out that there was no excuse for Tottenham not to happen considering his new stadium and his superb training facilities.
"We are in our stadium and everything is in place to build and progress.
"It's our fault, no excuses.
"I'm excited to go back and try to have a good season."
Tottenham is also expected to face Manchester United in the International Champions Cup before the Audi Cup matches with Real Madrid and Bayern Munich or Fenerbahce.
