The beleaguered Sudanese president is in Qatar looking for support after weeks of protests against his 29-year reign in the African nation.
President Omar al-Bashir will meet on Wednesday the Emirate of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The two men should discuss possible aid to Sudan, which is suffering from serious economic problems that triggered the protests.
Bashir's trip also touches on the policy of the Arab Gulf States.
Sudan has sent troops to support the Saudi war in Yemen, but is now seeking aid from Qatar, which the kingdom and three other Arab states have boycotted since June 2017 as part of a political conflict.
Sudanese officials said in December that Shaykh Tamim had promised Qatar "to provide whatever is needed" to help Sudan through its crisis.
