The organizers of the protests that pushed Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir to power are delaying the announcement of a civilian transitional government as they enter into new negotiations with the ruling military council.
The protesters suspended talks with the military over the weekend, saying the council's personalities were too close to Al-Bashir. But on Wednesday, they resumed negotiations and three council members resigned, apparently in response to protesters' demands.
The Sudanese trade badociation, which was behind the protests, planned to announce a civilian transitional government at a mbad rally on Thursday. Ahmed Rabie, a prominent member of the group, said this would delay the announcement and instead focus on forming different committees to conduct discussions with the military.
