Education Minister Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum called on Education Ministry staff and management to help him realize the president’s dream of transforming the country’s education to meet the demands of the 21st century.

He explained that regardless of their position and status, what was required of them was to show commitment and dedication to achieve the right results for the benefit of the ordinary Ghanaian in the end.

Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum made this known during his first staff durbar aimed at interacting with his staff and presenting himself as the Minister of Education.

During Akufo-Addo’s first term of government, he appointed Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, as Deputy Minister of Education in charge of the pre-college level.

Among the notable initiatives he helped the government implement in the education sector was the deployment of the free high school and tracking system (Gold and Green tracking systems) which led to a increase in registrations. Until now, some students had to stay home and enroll a year or two after their colleagues.

The tracking systems also ensured that some qualified students who would not have been able to enroll due to the student thresholds that reduced the admission of the various high schools were given the opportunity to enroll.

Dr Adutwum, reminded the staff and management of the Ministry of Education (MoE) to strive to be part of the government’s efforts to reform and improve the education sector which played a very crucial role in the development program of the country.

The Chief Director of the Ministry of Education, Mr. Benjamin K. Gyasi, on behalf of the staff, congratulated the Minister on his praise and pledged on behalf of the staff to work as a team to move the ministry forward.

He called on everyone to redouble their efforts to achieve the best for the nation since education was central to all facets of the nation’s development.
