Supreme Court Justice Samuel Marful-Sau dies

Supreme Court Justice Justice Marful-Sau has died, a source confirmed to JoyNews. He was 64 years old.

Justice Marful-Sau was a member of the 7-member Supreme Court panel that decided on the 2020 election petition brought to court by former President John Dramani Mahama.

He was appointed to the Court in 2018 by President Nana Akufo-Addo.

Marful-Sau was admitted to practice in Ghana as a lawyer and prosecutor in 1984 and briefly served as a prosecutor in the Office of the Special Prosecutor from August 1984 to July 1986.

In 2002 he was appointed a judge of the High Court and was elevated four years later to the Court of Appeal where he served until his appointment to the Supreme Court in 2018.
