Susan Boyle judged and misunderstood 10 years after the British Talent Got Talent

Susan Boyle spoke of her Asperger's syndrome after being diagnosed following her UK audition Got Talent in 2009.

During the night, Susan became the most talked about star on the planet after Ashton Kutcher tweeted a clip of her audition to millions just over a decade ago.

Since then, the life of the diva born in Glasgow has become a bit of a bumpy miracle. She sold 25 million albums, worth an estimated £ 12 million, but the 58-year-old confessed to finding the smallest thing "overwhelming".

"I knew the diagnosis for a year before deciding to go public," she told PEOPLE.

"It gave me time to learn and understand and really understand everything. Why emotions were overwhelming and why little things, like people entering my personal space, caused me so much concern.

"I think people who know Asperger understand why I do things, but to those who do not, I still feel like I'm being judged, misunderstood or scorned."

To mark 10 years of Dreams' performance as a dream for judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan, Susan returned to the British Got Talent scene on Saturday night and reached millions of people.

Simon was all of us when he squeezed the singer into his arms.

"It was a very moving thing for me," she told Mail on Sunday.

"I went back to my box and shed a tear or two. I do not want anyone to think I'm a jerk, but it was a special moment for me.

"It has happened to me a lot since the first time I went on stage and despite everything I've done since then, I've always been so nervous."

The British Got Talent returns tonight at 8 pm on ITV.
