"Today, I filed a complaint against the three suspects for badault, because I believe that what happened is a crime, despite the objections to self-defense and the provocations, "said prosecutor Daniel Suneson in a statement.

The 30-year-old rapper, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, was arrested on July 3 with three other people, following a street fight in Stockholm on June 30. One of them, the rapper's bodyguard, was later released.

Part of the fight was captured in an amateur video published by the American newspaper TMZ. The rapper himself later posted videos of himself on Instagram in order to show the progress of the fight.

Mayers baderted that he was acting in self-defense, claiming that he was responding to the harbadment and provocations of the plaintiff.

But Suneson said in her statement that "I've had more documents to consider than those available on the Internet." In addition to the documents recorded on video, the complainant's story is supported by witness interviews. "

Since the arrest of ASAP Rocky, fans, artists and members of the US Congress have campaigned for the release of the artist. President Donald Trump also spoke about the case to Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven last week.

An online petition called #JusticeForRocky collected more than 620,000 signatures and posters bearing the logo "Free A $ AP Rocky ASAP" were placed around Stockholm.
