Swisscom launches a pay TV application for artists based on the Blockchain

Swisscom has announced the launch of a new application exclusively for Swisscom TV (Swisscom TV-Box compatible UHD), NOOW.

NOOW, which runs in the background on a blockchain-based system, guarantees the property rights of the buyers and the payment of the artists. NOOW will initially have 100 works by 30 international artists. With more than 300 channels, a vast selection of films, series and sports on demand, as well as excellent applications, Swisscom TV offers its guests the best of entertainment, including from now on the art digital for the living room. The NOOW app allows viewers to select parts and purchase a certified copy.

NOOW is supporting dloop, a start-up from Swisscom's internal innovation program, where employees can come up with their own ideas. NOOW uses ERC 721 smart contracts, based on ethereum blockchain technology, to certify its works of art. Digital authenticity certificates can be easily transferred by buyers and artists to new users.
