Great news for fans of 80s action movies: Sylvester Stallone and Dolph Lundgren meet. The two legends of the action work together on a new drama series drama of one hour. Deadline, with Lundgren attached to the star and executive of Stallone producing through his company Balboa Productions.
Written by Ken Sanzel (Numbers), the The untitled program is becoming one of the most sought-after projects in the throwing season, sparking keen interest from Fox, CBS and NBC. Lundgren will play an agent with the UN Department of Safety and Security; his character is described as "a man in his own right and a negotiator in hostages".
This will be the last of a series of collaborations between Stallone and Lundgren: they first acted together to Rocky IV where they played fierce rivals Rocky Balboa and Ivan Drago, then teamed together on the action franchise The Expendables. More recently, they have taken over their respective roles as Rocky and Drago in a sequel Creed II.
The two men have also spent time off the camera in recent days: last weekend, Stallone shared a video of himself, Lundgren and their action movie legend. Expendables co-star Arnold Schwarzenegger lives in Los Angeles and "grows old without grace".
In addition to collaborating on this new series with Lundgren, Stallone also stated that he was working with producer Irwin Winkler on another Rocky movie, and that a prequel TV series could also be in the pipeline. Meanwhile, he is also about to publish a new chapter of his other series of long-term action films: Rambo V: last blood must leave on September 20th.
