A deputy minister of information, Pius Enam Hadzide, badured that the security services were serious about rescuing the kidnapped girls from Takoradi, the capital of the western region.

This insurance comes after the rescue of two Canadian women kidnapped in Kumasi last week in the early hours of Wednesday, June 12. 2019.

In an interview with Hadzide, of Onua FM, said: "I know that security agencies are seriously working on the Takoradi kidnappings."

The quick rescue of the two Canadian women abducted by unidentified gunmen in Kumasi in one week raised questions and suspicions as to why the three girls abducted from Takoradi had still not been found.

Minister of Information Kojo Oppong Nkrumah issued a statement Wednesday confirming the rescue of the two Canadians.

Meanwhile, Ghanaian actor John Dumelo, in response to the rescue of Canadian girls, implored Canadian detectives to help rescue missing girls from Takoradi.

In a tweet, he said, "Can the Canadians who came to save the kidnapped Canadian citizens stay for another week and help us find our missing Takoradi daughters? I will pay for the accommodation I request."
