According to him, the Akufo-Addo government should take the time to read the proposal of the minority, because all his government needs to solve the economic problems facing the country was designed.

He explained that the country would have saved $ 1.3 billion through the importation of rice into the country every year if the Aveyime rice project worked; it is therefore one of the proposals presented by the minority.

He added that another minority proposal that they believe can help importers concerns the special levy on importation; in this sense, the government should remove such a tax importers so that they can feel free to import more.

"So we offered them solutions to help the Cedi and the economy, and it's not as if we had just given a press conference without mentioning what they had to do. If they will take the time to read the document, they will see the solutions we have proposed ", he stated.

He again urged the government to eliminate the luxury vehicle tax so that importers can have the financial means to carry out their activities. Recalling that the tax on luxury vehicles is another cause of economic hardship for importers and for Ghanaians in general.

L & # 39; Hon. Richard Acheampong insisted that the government can save nearly $ 4 billion on rice and sugar only if it will do so by reviving the sugar factory and the Aveyime rice project.
