Takefusa Kubo joins the Japanese club of FC Tokyo
Real Madrid has recruited Japanese teenager Takefusa Kubo, describing him as "one of the world's most promising young players".
The midfielder will join Real Madrid Castilla, the club reserve team.
Kubo, 18, is on duty at Copa America with Japan, for whom he made his international debut on June 9 against El Salvador.
According to Marca, Madrid will donate 2 million euros to FC Tokyo, a top Japanese player.
The Spanish giants would also have offered the teenager a five year contract worth a million euros (£ 890,000) a year.
Real Madrid has described Kubo as "an offensive midfielder with excellent technique and great vision of the game".
He played 13 times for FC Tokyo in 2019, scoring four goals.
