Former Deputy Minister of Ashanti Region and a member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) party, Joseph Yammin has called the head of the Inspector General of Police, Mr David Asante Apeatu.

According to him, the police chief must take full responsibility for locating the three missing girls in the western regional capital, Takoradi, for a few months now.

The Ghanaian police said she was working tirelessly to locate the girls and reunite them with their families after weeks of relentless pressure from the families of the victims and the general public.

COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Dankwah, Director General of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Police (CID), is currently under attack after summoning a press conference to say, "We know where the girls are."

Many Ghanaians have asked him to resign, but Joseph Yammin believes that the head of the CID must be left alone and that the pressure for the resignation has been returned to the IGP, if a manager should lose his job in this case.

In an exclusive interview with MyNewsGh.com, he said: "The IGP must be fired by the president for his deafening silence on the issue; he has totally failed since taking office. "

He also said that the president as head of national security should "resign" after firing the IGP because he had "failed to guarantee" the security of Ghanaians.
