Some residents of Takoradi yesterday organized a vigil for the girls who were recently kidnapped in the area.
The vigil to convince the government to pursue the issue more aggressively and to ensure that the missing girls are found and reunited with their families began with a candlelight procession around the central business district started with a prayer mbad at Takoradi Jubilee Park.
Dressed in red and black, hundreds of locals held lighted candles and sang in the main streets of the region.
Three girls from the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis in the western region have been reported missing.
They were reportedly abducted between August 2018 and January 2019.
Three of the victims were reportedly abducted by the main suspect, Samuel Udoetuk Wills, arrested earlier this year, in 2019.
Samuel Udoetuk Wills is currently in custody and on trial for breaking the prison.
It did not provide a location for abducted girls.
The police are currently under public pressure to find the girls kidnapped.
