Alhaji Alhbadan Tapsoba, former Deputy National Coordinator of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) under the administration of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has
denied reports that he threatened to kill an investigative journalist.
The pillar of the NDC said that he had only given advice to his friend (undisclosed name), who is an investigative reporter on the phone recently.
According to him, he was stunned when he was arrested by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) last week (Tapsoba) to threaten him.
Explaining in more detail, he said: "At around 12:20 pm, on January 21, 2019, I was at his home in Kumasi when a man came on the spot to express his interest in buying a car. car and before I can say a word, about 12 m surrounded.
"Among the people who surrounded me, there were policemen carrying firearms," he told Kofi Asante of Nhyira Fm during an interview on Tuesday morning.
According to him, "I was immediately arrested and even prevented from saying goodbye to my wife; they just took me to a car that was waiting for me.
Alhaji Tapsoba said the security personnel had used less than two hours to drive him from Kumasi to Accra, adding that he had finally been informed of the alleged offense after four days.
He added that even though he had called the investigative reporter by mobile phone, he (Tapsoba) had not threatened to kill him during their friendly conversation.
Alhaji Tapsoba revealed that he had been released on bail by a court in Accra on Friday, adding that he would reappear in two weeks.
He expressed gratitude to his friends of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for their support during his detention.
