Tennessee County Health Departments distribute free flu shots on December 5th.
According to the state health department, the annual flu outbreak is expected to last several more weeks. Influenza can be fatal and annual vaccination is the best protection against it.
Health Commissioner John Dreyzehner (DRYZ -nur) said in a press release that the vaccine could keep you from getting sick. He says that it can also protect those around you who could catch the disease.
No appointments are required during the free flu shot event. Vaccines are available in all county health departments, but locations and plans vary from county to county.
