The Ministry of Youth and Sports has denied reports in the media that the government has ratified an extension of the mandate of the Standards Committee.
The four members of Dr. Kofi Amoah's team, whose term will expire, will end at the end of March.
But the committee did not fulfill its basic mandate of revising the bylaws and beginning the process of organizing elections.
In a statement signed by communications consultant Ahmed Osumanu Halid, it reads: "The Standards Committee has not made any proposal to the Presidency for an extension of its mandate.
"It is therefore advisable for the public to treat the story reported on 442gh.com by Chief Seidu Adamu as a lie and that should be ignored as such."
