Bayern Munich coach Niko Kovac warned his team that she would find herself under heavy pressure against Liverpool unless there was improvement in defense.
The giants of the Bundesliga came back twice from behind before imposing Friday 3-2 against Augsburg.
Bayern's defense was against Kovac ahead of the first leg of the last leg of the Champions League match against Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday, as his team failed to keep a six-game record in 2019.
"This [defensive mistakes] can not get us to Liverpool, "said the Croatian at a press conference.
"When my players in Liverpool start letting people go, especially with the top three [Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino]then we will end up in a very dangerous situation every minute.
"That's why it's important for the ball to take responsibility and act in a disciplined manner.
"Then you can defend something, but if you let the opponents run, then every team in the Bundesliga has the quality to score."

Kingsley Coman scored twice for Bayern and named David Alaba's winner before suffering an injury to his ankle.
The 22-year-old shot twice his team level after a goal against Leon Goretzka and a Ji Dong strike for Augsburg.
Kovac, who hopes that Coman will be available for the trip to Anfield, said Bayern was not yet up to expectations.
"I think it looked like three Augsburg throws and two scoring – it's what haunts us all season – every shot is a goal," he said.
"And if we do not have the ball, we do not act as I imagine, we know that our individual mistakes lead mainly to goals."
Bayern's victory put them two points behind Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund, who travel to Nuremberg on Monday.
