That's only the beginning for Liverpool FC

Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk says he and his team are thirsty for success after making the dream of winning the Champions League.

The Dutch captain played a key role in the club's sixth European Cup, with a victory over Tottenham almost two weeks ago. He also played a crucial role as the club recorded a record 97 points in the Premier League final.

Van Dijk won the Player of the Year award from the Professional Football Association and was named man of the match in the Champions League final in Madrid.

"I had a few days to think now about the end of this incredible season," said the Liverpool defender.

"We have achieved great things this season in Liverpool as a team and I am proud to be part of such an incredible club with this group of players.

"Being a champion of Europe, it is a dream come true! We all aspire to greater success and will continue to do everything in our power to achieve this.

"I am also excited about the future of the national team and we will build on the promising season we have just experienced.

"Thank you for all your support over the last few months and I'll see you after a break, ready to go!"
