Black Stars Captain Asamoah Gyan explained why he chose to stay in Kayserispor despite reports that his salary would have been cut.

The Ghanaian striker had a disappointing first season in Turkey, where he made only thirteen appearances for Kayserispor and scored just one goal.

His performances left many fans unhappy, the club would have accepted a pay cut with the player ahead of the new campaign. The 33-year-old had to leave because of the cut.

However, Gyan insists that he remains to repay the club with the confidence that they entrusted him.

"I think I will come back to my old age.I explained the situation to the administration, not an unfair profit.I offered a refund.In the new season, we have had a discount on the contract, and I will play for 1 in 3. I can not let the fans love without reward, "Gyan said.
