Christine and the queens

Charli XCX's 2 o'clock set, which offered a hint to those who had peaked too early, was a feast of neon perspex, chaotic lighting, and mixtape-like sequences. An intimate enclave of the festival site overlooking the sparkling bay provided the perfect setting for a mesmerizing Celeste ensemble. Resplendent with silver glitter, the soul singer from Brighton, born in Dagenham, presented a voice resembling crushed velvet, caressing a succession of jazz-tinged instrumentals with seemingly effortless ease. Pond
Pond Australian psych-rockers quickly made up for Madonna's "Ray Of Light" on the second day of the festival with a wild performance of their riff monster, "Giant Tortoise". On the Adidas Originals scene along the shoreline of the festival site, band leader Nick Allbrook was at the center of an almost unadorned scene, jerking like a young Robert Plant. "Take care of the ocean out there," Allbrook said in a call for action at the closing of the plateau, with climate change being the thematic core of the group's latest album, "Tasmania". A cork not so subtle, maybe, but important to do.

Just mustard
These musicians from Dundalk, Ireland, practice a fierce trade in sumptuously dark music that conceals elements of punk, shoegaze, noise rock and dreampop. Friday (Friday) (we say early, but nothing starts at Prima before 18h, most days) found the five-piece Pitchfork scene tucked under the building of the photovoltaic panel. The dark retreat was a perfect fit for those terrific owners: strident guitars, comment guitars, nerve bbad lines, and Katie Ball's screaming and Celtic cries were a captivating 45-minute ensemble. 'Pigs' and the new single 'Frank' were the stars.

Janelle Monae
Electric Lady's Friday night electric party was Primavera's supreme enthusiasm: an hour and a half of P-Funk propulsion packs, dazzling costumes, polemics and the power of the cat. The Kansas-born artist knows how to sing as well as she can rap, dance as she can play, and bring people from all walks of life for a well-crafted and well done fiesta. The muffled sound may have frustrated some parts of the set, but Monae is so present on the stage that she has found theatrical ways to cut the noise. "Make Me Feel", "Pynk", "Electric Lady" were brilliant live.

Miley Cyrus
The biggest surprise this weekend was the announcement of Miley Cyrus Friday night at SEAT. Too often, the past of the singer's Disney pop princess – and her provocative public figures – allows her to easily dismiss her as a lower-than-normal star producing uninspired music. But Cyrus is in fact a force to be reckoned with. Despite a delay of 15 minutes, Pusha T has caught the slow wait with a loud and proud performance of the anthem "If you know that you know". Sporting the stage in a multicolored bomber jacket, his face permanently engraved on his head, T perfectly mastered his audience, especially for "Grindin" and "Mercy".
Lizzo
Lizzo is finally to have one's moment. The Saturday evening on the sandy Lotus scene was the beach party almost perfect to celebrate (we would have liked some screens to see the soul and queen of rap in action). The successes of Cuz I Love You, Lizzo's third and best album, bursting with bangers, were the highlights, especially her thick and low collaboration with Missy Elliott, 'Tempo', which touches the positivity of the body. that Lizzo advocates. Her incredibly tense and contagious funk juice, Juice, was a real treat for the crowd, with her synchronized dancers, her coolness, and Lizzo giving her flute to the cheering applause of her fans.
James Blake
James Blake's fourth album, "Assume Form", was the most appreciated reversal of a recent memory artist. The album hears a much more confident Blake producing gushing and joyful songs on a crazy love tune. Saturday's headlines at SEAT reflected a large part of the album: a more daring sound, important key experiences, and Blake peeling behind his piano and synth kit to sing directly into the crowd. It was a shame that he did not bring Rosalia on stage to perform Barefoot In The Park, but all was forgiven when the single "Assume Form" became a rotting industrial electronic beast. He left the hair firmly standing.

Tierra Whack
Some of Tierra Whack's changing sounds and ideas were lost in a swamp on his Saturday night at Lotus, but fortunately they are ephemeral examples. "Fruit Salad" and "Unemployed" are the songs that allowed you to better grasp and capture the parameters of Whack's imaginative world, which borders on both the mundane world and the mad world. Bold and colorful screen projections behind her and her sidekick Kenete allowed fans to connect with her world. Really, Whack's precise and pbadionate delivery bar, and his generous energy on stage, were enough to satisfy the crowd.
Slowthai
The Brexit Bandit was in no mood to ask Saturday's latecomers to show their ruthless face to his tormentor. The star of Northampton ensured that his wild set was wild enough that his tired bodies surrendered in a wild abandonment before sunrise. 'T N Biscuits' and 'Doorman' were the brightest performances, while slowthai smashed the stage with hype producer / producer Kwes Darko.
