“When we entered the elections as key stakeholders, we thought it was going to be peaceful, free and fair, but unfortunately it was not.”

The communications manager noted that the perpetrators of the elections that have just ended will be encouraged to engage in impunity, as evidenced by the elections, if they are punished.

“When you don’t punish wrongdoers, you encourage wrongdoers to commit wrongdoing with fruitful impunity, which is what we saw between December 7 and 10 when we went to this year’s election.”

He said: “In Techiman, we organized a demonstration after the EC performed the masquerade which they called collation.

“We thought what they had done was not a snack so we said, do the right thing, put the result together and declare the winner, we started to protest, no one shot a gun fire and nobody attacked anyone.

“The next thing we saw was military shooting on people and killing three in the process.

Mr. Gyamfi stressed that “in all these cases, the NDC has been the recipient, we have been the victims”.

“For me, what happened is unacceptable, it undermines our democratic progress as a country,” the NDC communications office said.
