Some members of the parliamentary minority have expressed concern over the decision of some of their older colleagues not to run again.
It emerged after nominations for candidates for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) election that had closed this weekend that experienced MPs, including Alban Bagbin, Fiifi Kwetey and Inusah Fuseini, would not challenge the primary party.
Others also explained that their decision not to challenge fulfilled their promise to stay for two terms.

During a speech to Citi News on recent development, some minority MPs said the situation would result in a loss of experience in the House.
"Parliament will lose the experience of citizens like Alban Bagbin, who has no equal supporter of legislative activities in Ghana. As long as Ghana is concerned, from pre-colonial to colonial time and from independence to independence, he is the oldest deputy in the history of the West African sub-region. [To spend], 28 years in Parliament, it had never happened before, " a legislator said.

Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, former Deputy Finance Minister and MP for Ketu South, did not collect application forms to participate in the party's parliamentary primaries.
The others are Richard Quashigah, MP for Keta, Clement Kofi Humado, MP for Anlo, and Bernice Adiku Heloo, MP for Hohoe.
The deputy of Tamale Central and former Minister of Roads and Roads, Alhaji Inusah Fuseini, also did not choose nomination forms to participate in the NDC primaries.
