Celeb college cheating equals a small change in America's plutocratic inheritance system
When I was at university in the United States, it was common knowledge that many of his clbadmates had benefited from a boost in the admission process thanks to a donation from their family. You never really knew which ones and how many or how many, but the principle that the admissions office looked nice with the big checks was well established.
This is what makes the latest scandal to hit so perverse American universities. This week, a group of consultants, college employees and 33 parents pleaded guilty or were indicted for allegedly trying to get their little darlings into college with their checks.
