The return flight in the said aircraft was canceled due to the bomb threat and the delay by pbadengers waiting to board the plane to return to the UK.
According to reports in Mirror.co.uk, An EasyJet spokesman said: "EasyJet can confirm that the police boarded a plane before leaving for Dalaman at the request of Dalaman Airport Security and that additional security checks were carried out. "
The spokesman added that the security check had delayed the flight and had resulted in the hours of service of the crew members being exceeded. "As a result, our crew exceeded its legal operating hours and the flight was delayed overnight," added the spokesman. The airline said its pbadengers were receiving regular updates, refreshments and hotel accommodation.
The concerned pbadengers turned to Twitter after being left in the dark because of the bomb threat and of considerable delay.
A Twitter user uploaded a video of the plane with the following caption: "5 hours late following a bomb alert in the plane". While another person wrote: "As we were going to get out of Gatwick's 2-hour delay by plane, we are leaving the plane in Turkey. So I was told that it was for safety reasons, but still in the air. "
