Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, revealed that President Akufo-Addo and his government were developing strategies to provide secondary and tertiary education institutions with free wireless fidelity services (Wi-Fi ).
According to him, this action that remains to be undertaken is in line with the promise made by President Akufo-Addo to students during his 2016 campaign.
Speaking at the official launch of TESCON's 20th Anniversary in Accra, the Vice President resumed his rights; "We promised free Wi-Fi to higher education institutions and high schools … Well, I'm happy to tell you that Nana Akufo-Addo did not sleep this promise. He is working on it and this year … by the grace of God, let's cross our fingers, we will begin to deploy a free Wi-Fi network in higher education institutions as well as in high schools. "
Dr. Bawumia said the first phase of the project would begin between the University of Ghana, the University of Accra Professional Studies (UPSA), among other schools.
He added that the project would expand nationally to strengthen the government's digitization policy by the end of the first phase.
"We plan to begin the first phase of this program with the University of Ghana, UPSA, West African High School in Adentan and Kwabenya Community Day, C / A SHS … and Ejisu".
TESCON, a political movement representing some 207 higher education institutions in Ghana, has been working very hard since 1997 to win in 2000 and 2016. It is eager to win the 2020 elections. Today, many TESCONIENS hold positions of responsibility, notably that of general manager.
