Hyundai India will launch today its first 100% electric vehicle, the Kona. It is important to note that this will be the first crossover in the country to be offered with a fully electric powertrain. The company claims that recharging the Kona Electric takes the same time as that required to charge a smartphone. This could be the DC quick charge configuration that can be installed in any parking place. In order for Hyundai Kona Electric to compete, it will be delivered domestically through CKD and not through the CBU route, which will make it more expensive.

Although internationally, the Hyundai Kona electric is available with an option between 39.2 kWh and a battery of 64 kWh. The smallest battery pack can be fully charged in six hours, while the larger one is fully charged in nine hours. Hyundai confirmed that it was the model with the 39.2 kWh battery pack that will be launched in India. This unit powers a 134 HP and 395 Nm electric motor. The Hyundai Kona electric looks pretty clbadic since Hyundai has created the Kona SUV with gasoline and diesel engines. So, fortunately, its electric version does not look weird, like many other electric cars in the world.
