The 4.04 meter (13.3 feet) The Audi A1 citycarver is based on the A1 Sportback with regard to technology and design. It features powerful, taut and sporty body lines while offering approximately four centimeters (2.0 in) additional ground clearance. This allows easier entry and better visibility. The new suspension with a higher driving height represents 35 millimeters (1.4 in). The rest is due to larger wheels compared to the A1 Sportback, from 16 inches in diameter.
The outside sports a rugged and off-road look. The large octagonal Singleframe recalls the Audi Q models. The heavily carved honeycomb insert is painted in matte black. Two characteristic locations above the grille differentiate it from the A1 Sportback. The stainless steel underbody protection evokes the off-road capabilities of the Citycarver A1. The redesigned wheel arches and sills have complementary elements of contrasting color. The redesigned rear bumper echoes the robust appearance of the front.
Urban A1's color palette includes nine exterior colors. Audi offers a contrasting roof in black Mythos Metallic or Manhattan Gray Metallic. The black style package bathes accessories in the lower body, which come standard in shades of gray and a stainless steel finish, in deep black.
Inside, the driver-oriented design and control panels create a perfect symbiosis. The handset of digital instruments, for example, forms a compact unit with air vents. The ventilation openings, the tunnel center console and the doors have mint, copper, orange or silver gray accent surfaces. Line S also offers structured gray as color.
In addition to the basic interior equipment, three lines of equipment are available: advanced, design selection and line S. The S line offers customers the choice between seat covers in fabric / synthetic leather or Alcantara / synthetic leather. The selection of interior design includes all-around lighting / ambient lighting.
The Audi A1 citycarver is in the image of the A1 Sportback with a generous badpit and a safe that can hold 335 liters (12.5 cu. Ft.). The same goes for standard and optional equipment, including fully LED headlights with dynamic rear turn signals. However, with the city car A1, customers also benefit from the S Line roof spoiler and larger wheels, from 16 inches. The badistance systems, which include an adaptive cruise control and a parking aid, are part of the full-size clbad. The Audi pre sense front (detection of pedestrians and cyclists) and lane departure warnings are standard.
At the center of the digital world: infotainment and Audi connect
Attractive infotainment components and extensive connectivity make the Audi A1 citycarver a clever companion for young drivers in particular. A fully digital dashboard comes standard, with the Audi virtual badpit and MMI navigation, which come at the top of the range. Drivers control the high-end infotainment system via the 10.1-inch touch screen or simply via voice control. The navigation destinations are quickly available via a free text search. The ICI Map and Navigation Service Provider calculates the route online taking into account traffic conditions in an extended area.
Audi offers additional features, such as navigating with Google Earth, online traffic information, parking information, a hybrid radio and a Wi-Fi access point for mobile devices with navigation and entertainment Audi connect, included in MMI Navigation plus, plus the additional package plus. The Audi phone booth seamlessly integrates the smartphone into the car. The Bang & Olufsen premium 3D audio system contains 560 watts of power.
Dynamic Pack for Improved Driving Experience: Suspension
The suspension of the most progressive Audi A1 is harmonious and precise. The A1 city car is even more agile thanks to the optional dynamic package. It includes brake discs with sporty red callipers, the Audi drive select dynamic handling system, an acoustic actuator and a suspension with adjustable dampers. The Audi drive select, which offers four modes – automatic, dynamic, efficient and individual – is also available separately. Audi also offers wheels up to 18 inches in diameter with the Dynamic Pack.
The Audi A1 citycarver can be ordered from August 2019 and will be delivered to European dealers in the autumn of 2019. At its launch on the market, Audi will also present the edition one, a special edition with a gray or orange arrow finish with 18-inch wheels. The frames of the front side air intakes, the radiator guard, the Audi rings in the Singleframe and the rear labeling are black. Headlights and taillights are tinted; the roof boxes and exterior mirrors have contrasting colors. A decal with the logo of the first edition in a matte silver shade adorns the flanks. The exclusive interior equipment is based on the S line interior line and features orange or silver accents to choose from.
