Many Spurs fans were shocked last month after Kevin-Prince Boateng's surprise move to Barcelona.
The La Liga champions still had to strengthen their team before the transfer deadline with a lack of coverage for the moment, but few would have predicted that the 31-year-old would be on loan from Italy's Sbaduolo.
Boateng arrived in North London in 2007 from Hertha Berlin, but his decision was not planned at all.
He made only 24 appearances for the club and spent the rest of the 2008/09 season on loan at Borussia Dortmund, before joining Portsmouth for a permanent contract in the summer.
Impressive for AC Milan and Schalke after its release from Fratton Park, Boateng now has the option of settling permanently at Camp Nou in the summer, provided that it attracts the eye of 39, here the month of May.
Speaking in the Spanish publication La Vanguardia, the former Spurs man opened his doors in the capital after barely playing under the titles of Martin Jol, Juande Ramos and Harry Redknapp.
"Now I weigh 83 kilos," he said. "It was the party (weighing 95 kg in Spurs).
"In Tottenham, I did not play and I always accompanied the fans in the stands.
"In London, I was 20. And you go to party, you are with friends and you eat badly.
"Now I have my cook and I am aware that eating well and being healthy is lengthening the career.
"When you are young, you think that every month the money will be there.
"If you do not play, you do not care because you have money and" friends "tell you that you are a phenomenon."
