National Democratic National Congress (NDC) President Samuel Ofosu Ampofo said he was innocent of all charges against him.

According to him, "My hands are clean and my heart is clean. The battle is not for me. The battle belongs to the Lord and the Lord will win it for me.

Ofosu Ampofo made this statement during the celebration of NDC's 27th anniversary at the chapel of the Royal House in Accra.

His comments follow arson and kidnapping charges that were laid against him due to the leak of a videotape Wednesday, February 27, 2019.

According to a report from Myjoyonline.com, Ofosu Ampofo said that he was innocent of the charges, adding that he was confident that God would redeem him.

The veteran politician was arrested and later released by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service (GPS).

The details of the inviting correspondence revealed that a suspect had accused him of being behind the kidnappings in the country.

Speaking briefly before donating to the International Chapel of the Royal House, Ofosu Ampofo revealed that he was fervently seeking the face of God facing his problems.
