The bizarre explanation of Man Utd's supporters for the triple blow to Liverpool

Manchester United had an injury nightmare in the first half of their Liverpool clash – and the fans provided an unusual explanation.

Acting boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was forced to use three submarines before the first 45 minutes.

Ander Herrera and Juan Mata had to be replaced because of an injury and the situation got worse for Solskjaer when Mata's replacement, Jesse Lingard, lasted only 15 minutes.

Lingard had to be replaced by Alexis Sanchez while things were getting worse and worse.

Liverpool was not spared either, Roberto Firmino having been injured in the ankle.

He was replaced by Daniel Sturridge in a weird first half.

Before the match, it appeared that the Old Trafford field had been sprinkled with garlic – which, according to experts, helps prevent pests from damaging the grbad.

The Red Devils are not the only Premier League club to use this approach, but some have scoffed at the fact that it may have been an allergy to garlic that forced players to move away .
