Rev OseiKofi Reverend Osei Kofi

Reverend Osei Kofi, a member of the Black Stars Group of 1965, winner of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), said that current team members should follow the example of groups from 1965 and 1982 with the necessary zeal for the country in the next AFCON 2019.

He said that because of the professionalism and development of football, this generation of Black Stars should play better than the previous generation.

In an interview with GNA Sports, Reverend Kofi said players should be willing to end the 37-year drought of trophies.

"We have used 25 years to win four AFCON trophies for the country, but even today, football has developed, we still have not won a cup in 37 years and that tells you that there is a problem, so the players have to put everything aside to win the CAN 2019, "he said.

The former goalkeeper said that it was time for players to reward Ghanaians and the government after providing them with everything they needed to excel.

"The government is doing its best by giving players everything they need, especially in terms of bonuses, so I think it's time that they reward Ghanaians and the government by winning this AFCON trophy. ", did he declare.

The Black Stars were drawn in Group F with defending champions Cameroon, Benin and Guinea Bissau in the CAN 2019 group stage in Egypt.
