EMINENCE, Ky. (AP) – The Kentucky state police announced that the body of a 7-year-old boy had been found in a pond near his home.
Police said in a statement that the boy was found early Saturday about 5 hours after his disappearance at his home in Eminence.
According to the statement, the boy, who was autistic, would have disappeared around 22 hours. Friday and several agencies joined the search before the Louisville Metro diving team found his body. The boy's name has not been published.
Private Steven Dykes said it was "a sad and terrible result" but every effort was made to find the boy as quickly as possible.
