Oh, come on, you know perfectly well that Jane and Pinstripe's chemistry is undeniable!
RELATED STORIES
Below, star Katie Stevens explains why Ryan is the ideal guy for Jane and presents the upcoming challenges for the new couple, as well as some very enjoyable moments. The actress is also staging one of her favorite cross-shows, Freeform Good problem.
TVLine | You get the first script of the season, and in the first two pages, you know that Jane chose Ryan. what's your reaction?
[[[[Laughs]Well, I actually knew it would be the situation when we would have finished season 2. I was so excited. It's a fun trip to see people say who they think Jane will choose and who they want Jane to choose, and most people are Pinstripe fans. I am so happy for all those who hoped for this, and for me, because I love Dan Jeannotte. [who plays Pinstripe].[[[[Laughs]
TVLine | Did you have the feeling, at the first introduction of Pinstripe, that he would stay longer? Or was it originally supposed to be a short bow?
I am not sure. Honestly, I have the impression that if anyone else had played it, it might not have happened that way, because I think that I 'd have it. intention is always to present the love life and all this on television. But Dan and I have so much good rapport and chemistry that I think writers really liked writing for us and enjoyed exploring what this relationship would look like. And I adore the fact that they have explored someone who was a bit of a gambler and someone who was a bit more tense … It's so easy, often, to present meetings and to show people who come out all the time, but there are also in the world, they are serial monogamous, who do not just like to be in contact with people and lead this kind of life. So, presenting this story, for me, was really fun to explore, as well as the dynamics of someone who is a serial monogamist attending a serial date stamp.
TVLine | What makes him the right guy for Jane at this point?
At this point, I think what ultimately prompted Jane to choose him is that he understands his career. He supports her. He pushes her where she needs to be pushed, the fate of her comfort zone, challenges her, but is also very supportive, caring and loving. He always showed up for her, and I think it was something that made him afraid he would not do it. That's why she's been so hesitant for so long, but she's proven time and again that she's finally managed to let her down and trust herself.
TVLine | As you mentioned, he is a serial date maker, perhaps a phobic and committed man. What are the biggest problems or challenges they will face as a couple this season?
I think at this point they are on flat ground. It is sort of about serial dating, and what is so much fun to explore is how, how to take someone and make it engage, and what does this commitment look like? I'm really excited because we have a lot of beautiful things coming for them, and it's nice to see that different side. It was so easy to show Pinstripe as a player, but now we see him as a boyfriend, and we also see that Jane is abandoning herself to a relationship, because I think Jane was a little of apprehension in the past. Watching two people who were too scared to try is really fun for the viewers.
TVLine | This scene at the end of the first season when he said "I do not know what I did to be so lucky" was so sweet.
Is not it so nice? And also, it was a thing so vulnerable to me that filming, because I was honestly, as if I was filming basically naked. But I am very lucky to work with such a respectful and kind person. He protected me throughout the scene, making sure I was well and comfortable. He is just a very good stage partner. So I am very happy with the turn that this scene had, because we both had to be free and give up on the experience, and yes, I think that it turned out really cute.
TVLine | There are many bady moments this season. From the beginning of the season, you have Jane and Pinstripe, as well as Sutton and Richard. Is it a badier season than the previous two?
I think we always try to push the limits with the bady. Sometimes you are told to master it a bit, but I like that in our show we give ourselves a little to that, because that's really what your 20 year old looks like. You're sort of figuring out who you are and determining your baduality, your likes and dislikes when you go out with people, and I think that goes with all of that. It is therefore important that we show this and I think our show is bady. I think we're doing a good job of making it taste good, though.
TVLine | I saw that you were tweeting about Good problem. Looks like you're a real fan of the show.
Yes. And I'm also friends with a lot of people in the series. So, I always love when my friends are doing well and the show is so good that I'm so happy for them.
TVLine | Any chance we can see you on Good problem? Is this something you told them about?
Listen, I launched both series. We both said, "Yes, we need a Bold / good problem crossover ", and I was talking to them, and I thought," Jane could come and write an article on the Coterie, then she loved it so much that she ended up living there. "[[[[Laughs]
TVLine | I like that. I think the two series could lend themselves quite naturally to a crossover. They are on different shores, but they will find a way around them.
Or Callie starts working for legal with Richard to Scarlet?
TVLine | Otherwise, you can enter and play a new character.
I think it's harder to do when you're a regular series at another Freeform show. It's hard to cross because I think everyone is watching Freeform and they can only see me as Jane. So, I think it would be more fun to do as a two-hour episode in which all our stories intersect. Maybe Kat helps Alice to discover more about her baduality?[[[[Laughs]
