The Brazilian coach refuses to leave after the final of the Copa América

RIO DE JANEIRO – Brazilian coach Tite denied having been able to leave his post after the Copa America final on Sunday against Peru.

Asked about his plans for the future, Tite told reporters Saturday that his contract was until the end of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The coach declined to say more about a Brazilian UOL website that announced that he was considering leaving, regardless of the final result at the Maracanã stadium.

Tite became Brazil's coach in 2016 and seemed to focus on the experience by bringing an aging team to Copa America. He has been facing criticism since the World Cup in Russia because of his conservative choices.

The report also indicates that the Brazilian football federation is already seeking to replace Tite.
