London – Harry Kane regards the English coach Gareth Southgate as a "father figure", but his 12th man is his fiancée and his childhood love, Kate Goodland, he said The temperature.
Aged 25 – who returned to starting training for Saturday's game against Burnley after a seven-game absence due to an ankle injury – Goodland has been his sounding board since the beginning of their relationship as early as the age of 18 having met initially in primary school.
However, the attacker admits that his lack of emotion is the only thing that irritates him.
"I was very emotional when my children were born, but I've never been a great mourner, and I think it moves Kate," said Kane, who has two daughters with Ivy and Vivienne, two years in Goodland, six months old.
She said: "If you do not cry when I walk in the alley on our wedding day, then I turn around."
Despite this caveat, however, Kane says he's been his rock through ups and downs – he's been loaned by the Spurs to East, Millwall, Norwich and Leicester before setting himself apart.
"Oh, 100%," said Kane, author of a superb performance in 2018 that allowed him to score 62 goals for the club and the country, and the English skipper for his first semifinal of the world since 1990. He is considered his 12th man.
"I have been with her now since the age of 18 – she has been there through all the ups and downs.
"She was with me when I was successful, she was with me when I fought or had injuries.
"When I feel bad about something or when I need something that bothers me, I can just turn to it and talk about anything."
Kane, who belongs to a very close family, including his brother Charlie and says they keep him on the ground, says that Goodland is also good at bringing him back to reality.
"If I do a hat trick, Kate will say," Well done, you can make me a cup of tea when you get home. "
"She's not afraid to take out the mickey from herself or from me."
Kane, however, does not need anyone to evaluate his character because it boils down to three words.
"Determined, pbadionate and caring."
