There was confusion at a wedding in Accra on Saturday, July 20, 2019, after another lady came forward, claiming that she was pregnant for the groom.
The confusion has caused the bride's family to return the man's dowry to church premises and cancel the marriage. According to David Papa Bondze-Mbir who recounted the incident in a series of Facebook posts, the wedding was to start at 10:30. But at 12 o'clock, the bride and her family had not appeared while the groom, his family and guests had been sitting for a while. The bride's phone and those of her family members were turned off.
While still at the church, rumors began to circulate that the bridegroom's daughter had stormed the bride's home with evidence that she was pregnant for him. .
It is interesting to note that the traditional wedding ceremony had been held earlier in the morning and had caused enormous problems for the family.
After carefully considering the question, the bride's family decided to cancel the marriage between the two.
As a result, the family returned the drinks and engagement items to the groom's family at the church, which was still packed.
