The British High Commission in Ghana hosted a party last night at the High Commissioner's residence in Cantonments, Accra, on the occasion of the 93rd birthday of Queen Elizabeth II.

Ghana beyond help
In his speech on the occasion of the Tourism Anniversary, the British High Commissioner to Ghana, Mr. Iain Walker, said that the Commission was working side by side with Ghana to implement its common commitments in the field of tourism. to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to ensure that no one is left behind while Ghana goes beyond aid.
To do this correctly, he said that they significantly widened the British government's footprint in Ghana by 10%, with new front-line political work on trade, trade policy, investment, defense, serious and organized crime, cybersecurity, infrastructure, climate change, illegal wildlife trade and a new diaspora bureau.
Mr Walker said it was a clear sign of their commitment to the partnership after they left the European Union, a commitment to support "Ghana Beyond Aid" and their commitment to invest in Ghana as a leader in West Africa and the Commonwealth.
Mr. Walker said, "As a High Commissioner, my goal is to prioritize and develop the UK-Ghana partnership" to further improve it.
In her address, the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Gloria Akuffo, who led the government delegation to the Queen's birthday party, extended warm congratulations on behalf of President Akufo-Addo to his Majesty the Queen, to the Government and people of the United Kingdom.
She said Ghana remains a proud and active member of the Commonwealth, which also continues to promote close ties among its 33 member states on five continents.
Akuffo said the nation's 2 billion-strong, evidence-based Commonwealth Youth Policy was welcome.
