HONOLULU – The Japanese company All Nippon Airways has started taking reservations for flights between Tokyo and Honolulu on an Airbus A380, the world's largest airliner.
Honolulu Star-Advertiser announced that the airline was planning to put into service its first 520-seat aircraft at the end of May. He started booking seats earlier this month.
The carrier ordered three Airbus A380s in 2016.
All Nippon Airways plans to launch service on the A380 with flights three days a week between Honolulu and Narita International Airport.
It plans to increase to 10 flights a week when the second A380 goes into service in July.
Jun Miyagawa, senior vice president of sales at the airline, said the carrier would increase capacity between Japan and Hawaii to reach about 1,300 customers a day by 2020 if everything goes as planned.
